Hello! I’m Julie Fairclough, founder of Bramhall Runners, Personal Fitness Trainer and Level 2 Endurance Running Coach for Stockport Harriers and founder of Bramhall Runners.
My passion in life is keeping fit, trying to encourage others to keep or get fit, healthy eating, yoga, pilates.
Ten years ago work colleagues asked me to start running with them in our lunch hour. I hated the first time we went out! After a slow start I gradually worked up to running 5 miles and from there on, I was addicted to the feel good factor it gave me. I have ran 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and 2 marathons. I also enjoy yoga for relaxation, pilates, core stability exercises for my posture and strength and music or dance classes for fun.
I have also taken part in duathlons and triathlons, I really enjoyed the different parts of the training and especially seeing the improvements in my swimming - from not being able to complete a length front crawl in the pool to open water swimming at Bala Lake (freezing)! and Boundary Park, Cheshire.
This year after several visits to doctors and hospitals I was diagnosed with a heart condition which unfortunately means I can no longer train hard or take part in races. This does not mean I have lost the passion for exercise, far from it! I love helping people feel the benefits of exercise and feel a sense of achievement when I motivate and inspire people to exercise more and gradually feel fitter, have more energy, have more confidence in themselves and most of all, enjoy the training sessions.
I have coached a mixed endurance group of runners at Stockport Harriers for 2 years now. I love to help athletes work hard and push themselves therefore realising their true potential.
I have recently joined forces with Bioticfit Fitness Training based in Cheadle. James the founder of Bioticfit shares my passion in encouraging individuals to find the right balance of fitness for themselves. Bioticfit have a varied and full timetable of options for different ways to train and keep healthy, strong and happy.
If you have a race or event you are hoping to run in a certain time in I can work out a training programme specific to your running ability plus I am available for one to one help to coach you through various sessions checking your technique and running style is correct.
My biggest achievement this year is setting up Bramhall Runners with Run England plus I have coached 2 athletes to qualify for the Duathlon World Championships in Gijon.
