Hello! I’m Julie Fairclough, Personal Fitness Trainer and Level 2 Endurance Running Coach for Stockport Harriers.
My passion in life is running, healthy eating and general fitness.
Ten years ago work colleagues asked me to start running with them in our lunch hour. I hated the first time we went out! After a slow start I gradually worked up to running 5 miles and from there on, I was addicted to the feel good factor it gave me. I have ran 5ks, 10ks, half marathons and one marathon. I also enjoy yoga for relaxation, core stability exercises for my posture and strength and music or dance classes for fun.
My goal last year for 2009 was to try something different, I've so far done 2 duathlons and four triathlons and now have the bug, planning to do as many as possible for the rest of the season. I've really enjoyed the different parts of the training and especially seeing the improvements in my swimming - from not being able to complete a length front crawl in the pool to open water swimming at Bala Lake (freezing)! and Boundary Park, Cheshire.
My goal this year 2010 is to complete a marathon. I am aiming to enter the Abingdon Marathon in October, inbetween training for the marathon I also aim to complete some cycling sportives and enter some more duathlons and triathlons.
I enjoy helping people feel the benefits of exercise and feel a sense of achievement when I motivate and inspire people to exercise more and gradually feel fitter, have more energy, have more confidence in themselves and most of all, enjoy the training sessions.
I am based in Bramhall and cover the surrounding areas of Woodford, Poynton, Stockport, Cheadle, Cheadle Hulme, Hazel Grove, Didsbury, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, South Manchester.
I coach a mixed endurance group of runners at Stockport Harriers. I also coach a core stability section in the weekly circuit class at Dialstone Lane focusing on abs and glutes. This makes the overall body stronger.
I can train you in a park local to your area, at your home, Trans Pennine Way in Stockport, straight from your place of work, wherever is convenient for you!
